Hwan Kim (born in 1998 in Seoul, South Korea) is a contemporary artist based in Baltimore, MD. Kim is about to finish his Painting BFA at Maryland Institute College of Art (MICA) in May 2024.

Kim uses metacognition to observe potential beauty from commonly observed subjects around his surroundings, and expresses his personal freedom and the feeling about subjects. His works contains gestures that emphasizes fearlessness without hesitation in both his brushstrokes and color decisions.

Recently, Kim’s works were invited to exhibit at Red Bluff Gallery, CA, and M.A.P, Baltimore, MD, and other galleries in Baltimore, MD, multiple times..
